English Bio
As a bilingual therapist (English and Spanish) trained in EMDR, I support adults in navigating the effects of painful life experiences- including PTSD, chronic stress, and the grief that can come from feeling disconnected from who you were or hoped to be. I bring a neurodiversity-affirming lens to my work, supporting people with attention and processing differences (ADHD, Autism Spectrum). I also support adults who have dissociative experiences, approaching it as a protective response. I draw from a variety of therapeutic models, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), to help people understand and connect with the different parts of themselves. My approach is relational, shaped by the belief that healing happens when we feel safe, seen and supported over time.

With training from Boston University and experience supporting people from many different backgrounds, I bring a warm and practical approach that is tailored to your needs. My focus is on helping you ease stress, strengthen relationships, and build a stronger sense of self at every stage of life.

I work with people who feel stuck- whether in old patterns, past trauma, relationships, or self-doubt and help them move forward with clarity and support. Clients describe me as calm, warm, and direct; I show up as a real person in the therapy room, fully present and genuinely invested in their growth. With experience supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence and working in community mental health, I specialize in complex trauma, PTSD, parenting stress, intergenerational trauma, and family conflict, with particular interest in addiction, mood disorders, and ADHD. Krista Guzman, MA, LADC-1
I’m a down-to-earth, compassionate counselor with nearly 20 years of experience walking alongside people as they face life’s toughest challenges. I specialize in addictions counseling, trauma, and co-dependency, and I work with individuals dealing with substance use, compulsive behaviors, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, or the stress of supporting a loved one in recovery. Over the years, I’ve supported people who felt hopeless, worked with court-mandated clients, trauma survivors, and those navigating medicated-assisted treatment—and I’ve seen incredible changes happen.
In our work together, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard. I use motivational interviewing, solution-focused strategies, and a person-centered approach to meet you where you are—not where anyone thinks you “should” be. My goal is to help you find your own answers, build resilience, and feel confident moving forward. We’ll take it one step at a time, and I’ll be right there with you.

I specialize in people. I feel everyone has a story and they need to relate that story as to how it has helped or hurt them. I want to hear your story and how that situation has influenced your life. Sometimes looking at your story from a different viewpoint will change your life.
My therapeutic approach depends on the problem being addressed. Some of the approaches I use include CBT, DBT, Somatic interventions, narrative therapy, and holistic therapy. I can’t say one approach is better than another, only that different methodologies work for different people, and it is my goal to provide the one that works for you. I also support a good sense of humor as a strong therapeutic tool so don’t be afraid to laugh, it is one of the healthiest therapies!
